Pamela has been serving her vintage-loving customers online since 1995 when she set up her first online shop. Several years later, after graduating from the University of Texas with a journalism degree, she began educating collectors on varied topics as a writer of books, articles, and online content. Pamela is continuing her work relating to antiques and collectibles writing for both Worthpoint.com and Kovel's Antique Trader. For 18 years, she was the antiques expert for The Spruce (formerly About.com) covering a wide array of topics. More recently she penned hundreds of articles covering everything from home decorating to do-it-yourself projects for House Digest and several food-related features for Mashed. Since 1999, after obtaining her journalism degree from the University of Texas, she has written for numerous newspapers, magazines, and online venues. She draws on personal experience coupled with suggestions from pros to share articles designed to help others create a haven they can be proud to call home.
Chic for Life is a lifestyle blog covering all of Pamela's favorite things. From great food and cruise travel to collecting pursuits and the search for the perfect gift, Pamela shares ideas you'll enjoy exploring. She also adds in some of her current projects as a writer that others with a Chic for Life outlook appreciate.
As the co-founder of Costume Jewelry Collectors Int'l (CJCI), Pamela assisted in organizing conventions as well as serving as a writer of educational articles for the organization's website. She has also been working on adding vintage and contemporary jewelry marks as well as updating entries on the RCJ Marks Guide now hosted by CJCI.
Pamela's first book for Krause Publications focused on collectible costume jewelry with photography by her husband Jay B. Siegel. Collaborating on the book fulfilled a long-time goal they shared as professionals working in complementary fields.
